Kantara Chapter 1, Tourist Family, Mahavatar Narasimha, And Others Join Oscars 2026 Race: The highly anticipated 98th Academy Awards are about to be held in March 2026. Just like the previous years, the academy has dropped the list of films that entered the eligibility list for the Best Picture award at the Oscars 2026. And as always, the list includes some much-loved Indian films including Kantara Chapter 1 and Tourist Family.

Recently, acclaimed film Homebound has entered the Top 15 list of the Official Entry category, at the Oscars 2026. Now, some of the finest Indian films of recent times, including the Rishab Shetty starrer Kantara Chapter 1, and the much-loved animation film Mahavatar Narasimha, are among the Indian films which have entered the eligibility list for the Best Picture award at the 98th Academy Awards. The exciting updates are confirmed by the Kannada production banner Hombale Films with a social media post, recently.

Tourist Family, the much-loved Tamil film which is directed by Abishan Jeevinth and featured Sasikumar and Simran in the lead roles, is also a part of the Oscars 2026 race. "A proud moment for our Tamil cinema! Tourist Family entering the Oscars race for The Best Picture... Let's celebrate this global recognition," wrote the elated makers on a social media post, recently.

Tanvi The Great, the acclaimed Hindi film which stars Anupam Kher and Shubhangi Dutt in the lead roles, is another movie which has joined the Oscars 2026. While Kannada film industry made a double entry into the list, Malayalam film industry failed to join the Oscars 2026 race despite producing some of the finest films of last year. The Telugu film industry, too has not had any entries in the list, this time.
