Ever since 24-year-old Kim Sae-ron's tragic death on February 16, 2025, 'Queen of Tears' actor Kim Soo Hyun has gotten embroiled in the dating controversy over allegations of dating the actor while she was still a minor. Even though the actor's agency GOLD MEDALIST confirmed their past relationship, days after private pictures of Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron from their dating days got leaked on the internet, they dismissed the accusation against Kim Soo-hyun being romantically involved with a 'minor' Kim Sae-ron.

The ongoing dating scandal is affecting Kim Soo-hyun's professional career a big time. Amidst the release uncertainty of his upcoming Disney+ kdrama 'Knock Off' with Jo Bo-ah and the halt in shooting, the actor is now facing a new setback. According to YTN, the 37-year-old actor has been sued for ₩30.0 billion KRW (about $20.9 million USD) by two unnamed advertisement companies who originally signed him as their model.

Reportedly, the advertisement companies are charging the actor with a legal lawsuit, seeking the repayment of the fees they paid him to be their model along with the compensation for damages. As the report further suggests, another company is also considering to terminate their brand contract with him.

Lawyer Park Sung Woo told the daily, "Kim Soo Hyun has signed advertisement model contracts with 15 brands, each valued between ₩1.00 billion KRW (about $696,000 USD) and ₩1.20 billion KRW (about $835,000 USD).

Usually, companies are reluctant to make it known that they were the first ones to file a lawsuit (against their model). But once one company files a lawsuit, more can be expected to join later on. (sic)"

Kim Sae Ron Final Project Before Death: Guitar Man Makers Drop OST

Before the tragic demise of Kim Sae Ron, the young actress was planning to make a comeback after the DUI incident and had filmed for two projects titled 'Guitar Man' and 'Everyday We Are'. On April 28, the makers of her last film, Guitar Man, dropped the music video of its main OST - A World Without Pain. The 4-minute-27-second MV featured Kim Sae Ron and Lee Sun Jung. For those unversed, the OST has been written and composed by Sun Jung.

Talking to Sports Chusun, director Lee Sun-Jung recalled the shooting days with Kim Sae Ron and stated, "Kim Sae-ron brought a radiant energy and immense passion to the set. I always hoped she would magnificently return to us. But now, I only wish for her to be happy in a world without pain, just as the song's title says. She deserves that peace. (sic)"

As per reports, he further added, "All revenue from the Guitar Man original soundtrack will be donated to the Korea Life Respect Hope Center. (sic)"

Guitar Man revolves around the story of a guitarist (played by Lee Sun-jung) who gets recruited by an underworld band called Volcano. band called Volcano as the lead singer and guitarist. Late Kim Sae-ron will be seen in the role of the female lead. As per reports, the film has been scheduled to hit cinemas in late May 2025.
