Kim Soo Hyun Star Power Ranking: Grabs 3rd Spot Despite Scandal

Despite hitting headlines globally for all wrong reasons, popular 37-year-old South Korean actor Kim Soo-Hyun's worldwide popularity seems to remain unfazed. Amid this growing tension during this testing time, he has his die-hard fans by his side.

As reported by Allkpop, Kim Soo Hyun grabbed the 3rd spot in the Star Power Ranking (male actor) list. The poll was conducted from April 24 to May 1.

Reportedly, Kim Soo Hyun saw a significant rise in ranking during the 110th round of the poll, leaving behind popular producer, singer, and philanthropist, Kim Nam Gil. Soo-hyun joined the Top 3 alongside Lee Jun Ho, who ranked 1st with 40,302 votes, and 'Lovely Runner' star Byun Woo Seok, who came in 2nd with 24,208 votes.

To note, it was Nam Gil who was in the 3rd spot after the 109th round but got replaced by Soo-hyun in the final round.

Meanwhile, since Thursday (May 1), Soo Hyun has been trending on Twitter over a poster of him from his upcoming show 'Knock Off'. Recently, it was reported that the shooting for the drama was stopped indefinitely amid the scandal. The show, co-starring Jo Bo Ah, was originally scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in the first half of 2025. Later, the OTT streaming giant issued an official notice on the postponement.

Kim Soo Hyun Controversy New Update: Actor Faces New Lawsuit

Even since Kim Soo Hyun got embroiled in the Kim Sae Ron controversy, the actor has been facing major financial losses. A couple of days ago, it was reported that he was slapped with a legal lawsuit for damages worth ₩30.0 billion KRW (about $20.9 million USD) by two unnamed advertisement companies who had originally signed him as their model.

And now, according to a Koreaboo report, Soo-hyun has been sued once again by yet another advertisement agency. Reportedly, the 3rd company filed a lawsuit against Soo-hyun and his agency GOLD MEDALIST, claiming damages worth 2.8 billion KRW (2 million USD) on grounds of breach of advertisement contract amid the recent controversies.

Kim Soo Hyun Previous Lawsuits By Advertisers

Previously, lawyer Park Sung Woo had opened up on the earlier lawsuits filed against Kim Soo Hyun by two advertisement companies. Talking to a Korean outlet, he was quoted saying, "Kim Soo Hyun has signed advertisement model contracts with 15 brands, each valued between ₩1.00 billion KRW (about $696,000 USD) and ₩1.20 billion KRW (about $835,000 USD).

Usually, companies are reluctant to make it known that they were the first ones to file a lawsuit (against their model). But once one company files a lawsuit, more can be expected to join later on. (sic)"

Now, the total combined amount of the advertisers (total 3 companies) reportedly exceeded 3 billion KRW (approximately 2 million USD).

At that time, it was already reported that another brand was planning to sue the actor while seeking a refund for the modeling fees along with additional compensation for the damages caused by the ongoing dating scandal.
