Wife Of A 21st Century Prince Release Date Updates: After winning hearts as 'Sun-jae' in Lovely Runner, Byeon Woo-seok is all set to take on the role of a prince. The 33-year-old South Korean model-actor has been confirmed to romance Lee Ji-eun aka IU in the upcoming historical kdrama tentatively titled 'Wife Of A 21st Century Prince'. Ever since the news broke out, fans have been eagerly waiting for some real-time updates about the upcoming kdrama.

Previously, Woo-seok and IU starrer Wife Of A 21st Century Prince was slated to release this year. However, as per the latest reports, fans have to wait a little bit longer to catch the duo together onscreen.

Byeon Woo-seok and IU are all set to pair up for a historical romantic kdrama, Wife Of A 21st Century Prince (working title), that is reportedly set against the backdrop of a 21st-century constitutional monarchy in the Republic of Korea.

As per reports, Park Joon Hwa, known for helming hit kdramas like 'Alchemy of Souls', 'Love Your Enemy', 'Touch Your Heart' and 'What's Wrong With Secretary Kim?', has been brought on boar to direct this project.

Wife Of A 21st Century Prince will reportedly follow the issues of social class and identity struggles. Byeon Woo-seok will be apparently seen as Prince I An, the powerless son of a king. On the other hand, IU will essay the role of a powerful, intelligent and fierce woman named Sung Hee Joo, who faces societal discrimination due to her 'commoner' background.

Previously, the production house Makao Entertainment announced that MBC was eying for a 2025 release for Byeon Woo-seok and IU's Wife Of A 21st Century Prince. However, according to an OSEN report, the premiere of the upcoming kdrama has been pushed to next year, 2026. However, an official confirmation is still awaited.

In a recent photoshoot with Elle Korea, Byeon Woo-seok expressed his excitement for his upcoming kdrama opposite IU. Taking about the show, the actor was quoted saying, "As soon as I read the script, I immediately felt that I wanted to take on this project. I hope viewers will look forward to seeing a new side of Byeon Woo Seok that I haven't shown before. I'm personally very excited as well. (sic)"
