2018 Story

2018 - Everyone is a Hero is a Malayalam movie written and directed by  Jude Anthony Joseph. The film features Asif Ali, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Aparna Balamurali, Kalaiyarasan, Narain, Lal, Indrans, Aju Varghese, Thanvi Ram, Shivada and Gauthami Nair. 

Touted to be a disaster drama, it's a true depiction of the Kerala floods of 2018. The film is produced by Venu Kunnappilly, C K Padmakumar, and Anton Joseph under the banner of Kavya Films. Nobin Paul will compose music for the film while Chamman Chacko is in charge of editing.  

Movie Plot 

It tells the story of a young man named Anoop's successful escape from the army using a fake medical certificate. Out of fear, he left the army and is now Dasettan's supporter, a blind store owner. Nixon is on the other side and aspires to be a supermodel. Nixon's brother and father are also brave fishermen who wish to see Nixon follow in their footsteps. Ramesh is currently going through a divorce and is frequently on the road. Shaji, a stressed-out government employee in the Collectorate, can serve as another illustration. In addition, Kalaiyarasan, a truck driver, was committed to delivering a specific item despite his distaste towards Keralites.

In Kerala, the looming natural disaster of heavy rain and flooding will result in terrible human suffering. After 26 years, the Idukki Dam's shutters will open, causing a massive flood brought on by the recent rain. Even with the assistance of state ministries and government officials, saving and aiding the people of Kerala will be challenging.  

The following story shows how people from different walks of life turn into unexpected heroes in a natural calamity. In brief, it is a full-fledged survival drama that portrays the disastrous floods that struck Kerala and claimed the lives of numerous defenseless people.

The film was released in theaters on 5th May 2023.

2018 has become the fastest Malayalam film to enter the coveted Rs 100 crore gross club after  Romancham and Malikappuram. The film was released in theaters and grossed more than 50 crores at the box office in the first nine days.
