Cholliyattam movie is about a second generation French girl born out of a Malayali father coming to Kerala in search of her roots. She comes with an aim to learn Kerala's art form like Kathakali and also trace out her father. Her mother who came to Kerala decades ago to study Kathakali fell in love with a Malayali Brahmin. She got pregnant and had to go back to France.
20years later her daughter has come. The daughter traces out her father who is now in state of coma. She takes her father back with her to France.
