Nottam movie tells the story of a well known Koodiyattam artiste (Nedumudi Venu) who faces the harsh realities of today's world , which offers nothing much to the great ritualistic , classical art form of Keral. he in his own way wins his battle against the new world through the art of koodiyattom.

Vasudeva Chakyar for whom his art has been the most defining aspect of his life, the be all and end all of his search for peace, harmony and salvation, proves here that true art, in spite of demeaning decimations, cantranscend time and space, language and culture to carry its beauty and essence across. He realizes the power of his art.
