Samayam Story

Samayam movie tells the story of Chathappan (Sreenivasan) who is a member of the potter community. Chathappan, who is exceptionally skilled in his craft, believes that he is not the one to spend his lifetime making pots and mud vessels only. A skilled sculptor too, he believes that he should always aim at expressing himself through the many sculptures he can make.

Chathappan meanwhile has a family to look after, and when times change, as a family man he is faced with a lot of responsibilities. But Chathappan spends his time drinking, participating in cock-fights and loafing about. In fact it is his wife Manikyam (Shweta Menon) who takes on the burden of looking after the family.  The story is set against the backdrop of the changing times.
