Sarovaram is the story of the life of a musician Devadathan, played by Mammootty.
Sarovaram was an Onam release along with Mohanlal's Gandharvam, Jayaram's Aagneyam directed by P. G. Viswambharan, Viji Thampi's Addeham Enna Iddeham and the live-animation film O' Faaby. None of these Onam releases were Big hits. Only Gandharvam done moderate business and Addeham Enna Iddeham survived due to its low cost.
