Spadikam Story

Sapdikam is a Malayalam action movie, directed and written by Bhadran . The film stars Mohanlal, Thilakan, Urvashi and K.P.C.Lalitha in the lead roles.

Released in 1995, the film Spadikam is one of the most popular Malayalam films of all time. Mohanlal who playea an incoic character named Aadu Thoma, which has been considered as the best performance of the actor over his 4 years of career life. Apart from Mohanlal vetran actor Thilkan who gained attention from audiences as well as critics for his stupendous performance in the film.

With stellar cast performances of actors, the film was well-recieved at the box-office and emerged as the highest-grossing Malayalam film in the year of 1995. The film also won Best Film - Malayalam, Best Actor (Mohanlal), and Best Director at the Filmfare Awards South. Mohanlal won Kerala State Film Award winner for best actor category.

Mohanlal starrer cult classic Malayalam film Spadikam completed 28 years of release this year. After 28 years, the film was re-released in theaters on Feb 9, 2023 with 4K Dolby Atmos such technology. The film makers spend Rs.2 crore to improve the sound and quality of the film .
