Thuramukham Story

Thuramukham is a Malayalam drama movie, directed by Rajeev Ravi. The movie stars Nivin Pauly, Nimisha Sajayan, Indrajith Sukumaran, Joju George and Poornima Indrajith in  lead roles.

Billed as a historical drama, which is based on play written by K.M.Chidambaran in same title. The film marks first collaboration between Nivin Pauly and and Rajeev Ravi. It also features Sudev Nair, Manikandan R. Achari, Senthil Krishna and Darshana Raendran in pivotal roles.

Written by Gopan Chindmbharan,the film 'Thuramukham' is one of the most -aniticiapted movies of 2023. Produced by  Sukumar Thekkepat under the banner Thekkepat Films, the film's cinematography is handled by the director himself. K Krishna Kumar composed music for the film.

Plotline:
The film is inspired on real events which happened in Kerala's political history. It  depicts the protests against the ‘Chappa’ system of casual labour allocation and primitive "work guarantee" scheme that was practiced at the Mattancherry harbour in Kochi during the 1940s and 50s. On other hand, the film is a sneak-peek into the colonial period, it also highlights the labour condition, violent attacks and leftist ideology.With high voltage of action sequences and punch dialogues, the film which gives a picture perfect ideas about labour struggles during colonialism.

Actor Nivin Pauly launched the trailer of the film on May 22, 2022. Promises like a survival drama, it highlights the blood-spattered chapter in Kerala’s political history.

The film released in theatres on March 10, 2023.

Actor Nivin Pauly who had received critical appreciation from his fans and followers for his performances in the film.
