The Ullam movie revolves around Radha ( Geethu Mohandas) who is born and brought up in a joint family, refuses to marry anyone other than his cousin, Kuttan (The Suresh Gopi) who was her playmate since childhood. Radha's mother and family oppose that relationship due to the trace of insanity in his family.
Eventually the two get married and a child is born to them, Appu. But an accident upsets Kuttan's mental balance.
