Drishyam 3 Digital, Theatrical Rights Sold: The highly anticipated third installment of Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph's celebrated crime drama franchise is one of the most anticipated upcoming projects from the Malayalam film industry. The Drishyam 3 shooting has been progressing at various locations of the Idukki district in Kerala and is nearing completion.

Meanwhile, Drishyam 3 has been making headlines frequently with the clashes between the makers of the original and the upcoming Hindi remake headlined by Ajay Devgn. Jeethu Joseph made it clear that he will move legally against the Hindi team, if they plan to overtake and release the remake version before the original hits the theatres. Now, reports on Drishyam 3's digital and theatrical rights have been making headlines again.

Drishyam 3 Digital, Theatrical Rights Sold

As per the latest updates, renowned production banner Panorama Studios has acquired the digital and airborne rights of Drishyam 3, along with the entire theatrical rights of India and overseas. The new development was announced by the banner itself, with an official statement, recently. Thus, it has been confirmed that the theatrical and digital rights of the Mohanlal starrer is now not owned by Aashirvad Cinemas, headed by Antony Perumbavoor.

However, director Jeethu Joseph recently pacified the fans of the franchise, who were worried about the Drishyam 3 release date, with a new update. The filmmaker confirmed that the original version starring Mohanlal will be the first to release, among all the versions that are being made. Contrary to the popular belief, the Hindi remake of the film, which stars Ajay Devgn in the lead role, will hit the theatres only after the Malayalam original completes its theatrical run.

Along with Mohanlal, the original star cast of Drishyam, including the leading lady Meena, Esther Anil, Ansiba Hassan, Asha Sharath, Kalabhavan Shahjohn, and others are returning to third installment to reprise their respective roles. More updates on the much-awaited project are expected to be out very soon.
