Drishyam 3, Patriot, And More; Mohanlal's Line Up In 2026: The legendary superstar of Malayalam cinema had a fantastic year in 2025, with back-to-back blockbusters, and major achievements. Mohanlal started the year on a fantastic note with the massive success of Empuraan, which was follwed by Thudarum. Later, the veteran actor won the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke award, for his contribution to Indian cinema.

Interestingly, Mohanlal is now all set to have an extraordinary 2026, with some of his most-awaited films gearing up for theatrical releases. This includes some highly anticipated solo projects, as well as some special roles in multi-starrers.

Mohanlal's Massive Line Up In 2026

If the reports are to be believed, Mohanlal might have its first release of 2026 with Drishyam 3, the highly anticipated upcoming third installment of the Drishyam franchise. The movie, directed by Jeethu Joseph, is reportedly gearing up to have a grand theatrical release by the Summer of 2026. An official announcement on the same is expected to be out very soon.

Later, Mohanlal is expected to make a comeback to the big screens by the mid-2026, with the most awaited upcoming Mammootty starrer, Patriot. The movie, which marks the reunion of Malayalam cinema's iconic superstar duo after a gap of over 12 years, is helmed by director-editor Mahesh Narayanan. Mammootty is playing the lead role in the film, which stars Mohanlal in an extended cameo appearance.

Recently, it was also confirmed that the Malayalam superstar is set to reunite as the celebrated character Mathews, in the upcoming Rajinikanth starrer, Jailer 2. Mohanlal, who wrapped up the filming of Drishyam 3, is expected to join the sets of director Nelson's film, in a few days.

Mohanlal is also making a cameo appearance in Thudakkam, the upcoming Jude Anthany Joseph directorial which marks the acting debut if his daughter, Vismaya Mohanlal. His another confirmed project is L365, which is directed by Thudarum director Tharun Moorthy. The recently announced project is expected to go on floors in February 2026, and might hit the theatres by the second half of next year.
