According to the latest reports by the popular industry tracking website Sacnilk, Kalamkaval has now emerged as Mammootty's third all-time highest grossing film, after Bheeshmaparvam and Kannur Squad. The crime thriller is set to cross the ₹83 crore mark at the worldwide box office. The domestic (all-India) collection, on the other hand, has now touched ₹42 crore mark.

Reportedly, Kalamkaval has made a total gross collection of ₹42.15 crore from the all-India box office, within the first 19 days of its release. The Mammootty starrer has made a net collection of ₹35.25 crore from the domestic box office, so far. The Jithin K Jose directorial is expected to cross the ₹85 crore mark at the worldwide box office, with its lifetime collection.

The upcoming Christmas holidays are expected to favour the crime thriller, all thanks to the excellent reviews. If Mammootty and Vinayakan's crime thriller succeeds in gaining another excellent weekend at the worldwide box office owing to the festival season, the lifetime collections of Kalamkaval might even touch the ₹90 crore mark. But, it is highly unlikely for the film to enter the ₹100 crore club, as of now.

Mammootty played the role of Stanley Das, a seemingly normal, family man with a dark side, in Kalamkaval. Vinayakan, on the other hand, appeared as Jayakrishnan, the police officer who is assigned to investigate a serial missing case. The project is scripted by director Jithin K Jose himself. Mujeeb Majeed composed the music score. The crime thriller is bankrolled by the megastar's home banner, Mammootty Kampany.
