Kalamkaval OTT Release: Mammotty, the legendary actor of Malayalam cinema is all set to make his long-awaited comeback to the big screens with Kalamkaval. The upcoming project, which is touted to be a neo-noir crime thriller, marks the directorial debut of writer Jithin K Jose. Along with Mammootty, popular actor Vinayakan is playing a pivotal role in the film, which is set to hit the theatres on December 5, 2025.

As reported earlier, the release of Kalamkaval was pushed from November 27, 2025 to December 5, 2025, as the makers were very particular about the OTT deal. According to the grapevine, leading man-producer Mammootty wanted to close the OTT deal for the film, before it hits the big screens. Now, the latest updates suggest that the OTT streaming rights of Kalamkaval have been bagged by the popular platform, Sony LIV.

According to the recent updates by the renowned trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai, the OTT giant bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of Mammootty's film, already. It is indeed a rare phenomenon in Malayalam cinema, as the industry is usually known to be struggling to land OTT deals, despite producing some of the best films in the country every year. The leading stars and technicians of Mollywood have always highlighted this issue in interviews.

Kalamkaval Cast And Crew

Mammootty is set to play a mysterious character with negative shades in the upcoming Jithin K Jose directorial. Vinayakan, on the other hand, plays the role of an efficient police officer who is on a mission to solve a murder mystery. Gibin Gopinath, Gayathri Arun, Shruti Ramachandran, Azees Nedumangad, Biju Pappan, RJ Sooraj and others essay the supporting roles.

Mujeeb Majeed has composed the songs and the original score. Faisal Ali and Praveen Prabhakar handle the cinematography and editing, respectively. Kalamkaval is produced by Mammootty Kampany, and distributed by Wayfarer Films.
