Kalamkaval Vs Kurup Box Office Worldwide Collection Day 5: The neo-noir crime thriller, which stars Mammootty in an out-and-out negative role, has emerged as a major critical and commercial success. Vinayakan appears as the protagonist in Kalamkaval, which marked the directorial debut of Kurup fame writer, Jithin K Jose. Now, as the Mammootty starrer completed 5 days of its release, it has surpassed the record set by the Dulquer Salmaan film.

As reported earlier, the neo-noir crime thriller crossed the ₹50 crore mark at the worldwide box office, by the beginning of its Day 5 at the theatres. According to the recent updates by the popular industry tracker AB George, the Mammootty starrer has collected over ₹55 crore globally, when it completed its fifth day of its release. Thus, Kalamkaval has also emerged as sixth fastest Malayalam film to enter the ₹50 crore club worldwide, beating Dulquer Salmaan's Kurup.

The Sreenath Rajendran directorial, which hit the big screens in November 2021, had collected ₹50 crore within the first 5 days of its release, from the worldwide box office. Despite receiving mixed reviews from the critics, the movie, which featured Dulquer Salmaan in a role inspired by the real-life fugitive Sukumara Kurup, earned around ₹81 crore within its lifetime run at the box office.

Kalamkaval Plot, Cast And Crew

The Jithin K Jose directorial narrates the story of a psychopathic killer, who seduces and kills single women, and the intense manhunt that unfolds as a police officer and his team start the mission to put an end to his atrocities. Mammootty appeared in the role of Stanley Das, a character inspired by the notorious real-life serial killer Cyanide Mohan in Kalamkaval, which features Vinayakan in the role of Jayakrishnan, a driven police officer.

Rajisha Vijayan, Gibin Gopinath, Shruti Ramachandran, Gayathri Arun, Dhanya Ananya, Vaishnavi Sai Kumar, Malavika, and others appear in supporting roles, in the film. Mujeeb Majeed composed the songs and the original score. Faisal Ali is the director of photography. Praveen Prabhakar handles the editing. The crime thriller is produced by the megastar's home banner Mammootty Kampany, and distributed by Wayfarer Films.
