L2: Empuraan Box Office Collection Day 9 Early Updates: Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran's latest outing L2: Empuraan (L2E) has emerged as the highest-opening film ever in Kerala, beating several other big films. The highly-anticipated Malayalam-language action-thriller sequel is yet to leave a long-lasting mark in other languages. Amid strong pre-release buzz, the pan-India biggie, one of much-awaited films of the year, had its grand theatrical release globally on 27th March 2025 (last Thursday). While the film is maintaining strong dominance at ticket counters in Kerala, the film is having a slow run in other markets.

L2: Empuraan (Lucifer 2) Box Office Collection Day 8

Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and starring Prithviraj himself with veteran Mohanlal, L2: Empuraan, as of now, holds the highest-grossing film in Kerala. After opening to a whopping collection of Rs 21 cr, the movie went on to touch Rs 88.25 cr in 8 days despite ups and downs.

With an overseas earning of Rs 133 cr, the Malayalam-language pan-India biggie grossed around Rs 236.25 cr worldwide till its 2nd Thursday, as per Sacnilk.

L2 Empuraan Box Office Collection Day 9 Early Trend (Today); Beats Lucifer Lifetime Nett Earning

Lucifer sequel L2: Empuraan has already surpassed the lifetime nett numbers of the first part. As per reports, Lucifer (2019) had scored around Rs 66.1 cr (nett) during its theatrical run.

According to the latest Sacnilk updates, Empuraan, mounted on a reported budget of Rs 180 cr approx., has managed to add Rs 83 lakhs today (day 9, Friday, April 4) till 4:30 PM. As of now, the total collection stands at Rs 89.08 cr. The film is inching closer to recover 50% of its budget today itself, ahead of its 2nd weekend.
