Vilaayath Budha Gets Trimmed Due To THIS Reason: Prithviraj Sukumaran recently made a comeback to the big screens with the Jayan Nambiar directorial. Vilaayath Budha, which is based on GR Indugopan's renowned novel of the same name, has been receiving mixed reactions from the audiences and critics. This has also significantly impacted the box office performance of the film, which was originally supposed to be directed by the late filmmaker Sachy.

Meanwhile, the team has now taken the decision to trim down the runtime of Vilaayath Buddha, due to various reasons. As per the latest updates, the editing team has already finished reworking on the film's duration, and the new version of the Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer is gearing up to be hit the theatres across Kerala, very soon.

If the reports are to be believed, director Jayan Nambiar and his team decided to trim down the runtime of the Prithviraj Sukumaran, considering the negative reviews from the audiences and critics. While most of the viewers enjoyed the film's first half of Vilaayath Budha, it's second half failed to impress them. Especially, the romantic subplot featuring Prithviraj's character Double Mohanan and leading lady Priyamvada Krishnan's character Chaitanya, has been widely criticised by the audiences for its lack of depth.

However, the audiences, especially the Reddit users believe that it is pointless to make changes in the film or cutting down its running time after the first weekend. The netizens believe that the damage is already done in the case of Vilaayath Budha, as the second half and underwhelming romance are not the only issues.

Some of the audiences have issues with the unconvincing brown skin tone sported by leading man Prithviraj Sukumaran, in Vilaayath Budha. They are also pointing out how some of the elevation scenes did not turn out well in the film, owing to its outdated making. However, another group of audiences are praising the film for being a faithful adaptation of GR Indugopan's novel.
