Malayalam cinema recently had a historic moment when the Mammootty starrer directed by Rahul Sadasivan had its screening at the Oscars Academy Museum, in Los Angeles. A special from the venue, where the presenter is seen reading out a description about Bramayugam, is now going viral on social media. In the video, the presenter is seen hailing Mammootty as the legend of Malayalam cinema, as the crowd cheered.

Netizens are now going gaga over the visuals from the Bramayugam screening event at the Academy Museum, and are calling it the "historical moment" of Malayalam film industry. The fans and cinephiles are also lauding leading Mammootty for making the industry proud, and leading by example. Edward Woodward-starrer The Wicker Man, Florence Pugh film Midsommar, and Anya Taylor-Joy's The Witch, are the other films screened at the Oscars Academy Museum, this year.

All About Bramayugam

The period horror comedy film, which is made in the black and white format, marked the first onscreen collaboration of Mammootty and director Rahul Sadasivan. Bramayugam revolves around Thevan, a young folklore singer who gets trapped in the ancient 'mana' (bungalow) of Kodumon Potti. Mammootty played the role of Potti aka Chaathan in the film, which stars Arjun Ashokan as Thevan.

Sidharth Bharathan plays the role of Kodumon Potti's cook in Bramayugam, which features Amalda Liz as Yakshi and Manikandan R Achari as Koran. Christo Xavier composed the songs and original score for the film. Shehnad Jalal is the director of photography, and Shafique Mohamed Ali handled the editing for the film, which is produced by Night Shift Studios.
