Drishyam 2 Re-Release Date Out: The highly anticipated third installment of Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph's popular film franchise, titled Drishyam 3, is gearing up for a May 2026 release. Interestingly, the makers are now finally set to re-release the second part of the series, titled Drishyam 2. The Mohanlal starrer, which originally had a direct to OTT release in 2021, is getting a re-release in theatres.

Drishyam 2 Re-Release Date Out: Mohanlal's Film To Finally Hit The Theatres!

As you may know, the much-loved second installment of Mohanlal and director Jeethu Joseph's crime drama franchise was released directly to OTT, on February 19, 2021. The makers were forced to make this decision, considering the lockdown situation in the country during the COVID-19 pandemic's second wave. However, Drishyam 2 is now finally gearing up to hit the theatre screens, after a long wait of over five years.

"Drishyam 2, returns to where it truly belongs. In theatres from April 10th, 2026," wrote leading man Mohanlal on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, as he shared the exciting news with his fans and followers. For the uninitiated, the legendary superstar had always believed that the Drishyam sequel truly deserved a theatrical release, and was evidently disappointed when the team was finally forced to drop the film on Amazon Prime Video directly.

Drishyam 3: All You Need To Know

As reported earlier, Drishyam 3 is gearing up to have its theatrical release on May 21, 2026, on the special occasion of Mohanlal's 66th birthday. The movie, which was originally slated to be released on April 2, 2026, was pushed to May 2026 considering the ongoing war situation in the Middle East countries. The much-awaited Drishyam 3 teaser is expected to be out by the second week of April 2026.

Mohanlal is reprising the central character George Kutty in Drishyam 3, which stars Meena in the role of his wife Rani. Ansiba Hassan and Esther Anil play the roles of their daughters in Drishyam 3, which stars all major faces from the first two installments in the key roles. The highly anticipated project is bankrolled by Antony Perumbavoor, under the banner Aashirvad Cinemas.
