Mohanlal Confirms Reunion With Priyadarshan: The iconic actor-director duo of Malayalam cinema are set to reunite after a gap of over 5 years, for a Malayalam film. Mohanlal is gearing up to play the lead role in Priyadarshan's 100th film. The real life friends, who formed an unparalleled personal and professional bond with each other right from their childhoods, announced their new project with a launch ceremony, recently.

Interestingly, Mohanlal and Priyadarshan are now set to create a rare record, as they reunite again on silver screen. The superstar played the lead role in the veteran filmmaker's directorial debut Poochakkoru Mookkuthi, which was released in 1984. Now, the actor-director duo is reuniting for the master craftsman's 100th film, in which Mohanlal will once again play the lead role.

The Thudarum star, who is quite overwhelmed about reuniting with his best buddy onscreen for the latter's 100th film, confirmed the news with a moving social media post, recently. "Some milestones do not belong to one person alone. They belong to everyone who stood close enough to witness the journey. My dearest Priyan is stepping into his 100th film, and I find myself without words for what that truly means to me," wrote Mohanlal in his X post.

"A hundred films is not just a number. It is a lifetime of stories told with passion, countless mornings driven by belief in the magic of cinema, and a journey of unwavering dedication that I have had the privilege of witnessing up close," further added Mohanlal, who last teamed up with Priyadarshan in 2021, for the period action drama, Marakkar Arabikadainte Simham.

"I am deeply honoured to be a part of this journey. Some moments are not meant to be explained, only felt and held close with gratitude. To my friend, here is to everything you have created, everything you have given the world, and all the stories that are still waiting to be told," the legend concluded his post.

Along with the special post, Mohanlal also shared a video about the film, which is gearing up for a 2027 release. The untitled project is touted to be a musical entertainer with a touch of action, and is expected to start rolling in 2026 itself. The Priyadarshan directorial is jointly produced by Antony Perumabavoor and Binu George Alexander, under the prestigious banner Aashirvad Cinemas.
