As per the latest reports, Mohanlal has now approached the Delhi High Court, seeking protection. The Drishyam 3 actor has made this move as the unauthorised usage of celebrity identities has been increasing day by day.

According to the reports, Mohanlal has filed a lawsuit at the Delhi High Court, alleging that several parties, including a few digital platforms, have been using his images, voice, and videos without permission from quite sometime. If the reports are to be believed, the Malayalam superstar's petition has mentioned quite a few popular social media handles and digital platforms as the respondents.

The new updates suggest that the first hearing on Mohanlal's personality rights case will be held on Tuesday (March 24, 2026). The matter is reportedly being considered by Justice Jyoti Singh. Previously, some of the biggest names in the Indian film industry including Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jr NTR, Anil Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, and many others had approached the court, seeking protection of their personality rights.

The legend was expected to have its first release in 2026 with Drishyam 3. However, the Jeethu Joseph directorial is now postponed to May 21, 2026. Instead, Patriot, the upcoming Mammootty-Mohanlal starrer directed by Mahesh Narayanan will be the veteran actor's first release of 2026.

Mohanlal is expected to wrap up the filming of the upcoming Tharun Moorthy directorial, by April 2026. Later, the celebrated actor has an exciting lineup including his best buddy Priyadarshan's 100th film, the upcoming Dileesh Pothan directorial, Krishand's crime comedy film, and many more.
