The long-awaited third installment of the celebrated Drishyam franchise, starring Mohanlal, is gearing up for an April 2026 release. Meanwhile, Bollywood is gearing up to drop the Hindi remake, starring Ajay Devgn. However, the grapevine suggest that the Drishyam 3 original version and the Hindi remake, will have different plots.

If the rumours are to be believed, director Jeethu Joseph, who has penned the story and screenplay for both the Drishyam 3 Malayalam and Hindi versions, is attempting something different with the third installments of the franchise. As per the reports, Mohanlal's Malayalam version, and the Ajay Devgn-starring Hindi version will have different plots.

Even though the makers and director Jeethu Joseph have not reacted to these reports yet, they have clearly invoked the curiosity among the cinephiles. If these rumours are indeed true, the final (rumoured) versions of the Drishyam franchise will bring unique experiences to the loyal fans of audiences. In that case, the Hindi audiences will be able to enjoy Mohanlal's Drishyam 3, while the Malayalam audiences can enjoy Ajay Devgn's film without inhibitions.

Drishyam 3: All About Mohanlal's Film

As reported earlier, Drishyam 3 is gearing up to have its grand theatrical release on April 2, 2026. The Jeethu Joseph directorial will have Mohanlal reprising his iconic character George Kutty yet again, while Meena returns to play the role of his wife Rani. Ansiba Hassan and Esther Anil too are returning to play their daughters in the film.

The recently revealed theatre owner's agreement suggests thathe Mohanlal starrer will get a theatrical window of minimum 30 to 35 days, before it makes a grand debut on OTT screens. Even though the Drishyam 3 OTT platform is not revealed yet, the recent updates suggest that the Mohanlal starrer is highly likely to lock one of the biggest-ever streaming deal in the history of Malayalam cinema.
