Vijay Should Break Trisha's Association First Before Leading State: Nainar Nagendran Targets TVK Chief

"First ask Vijay to come out of his house. Only if he steps out from Trisha will anything happen," BJP leader Nainar Nagendran targered the Tamil actor-turned-politician in Chennai, triggering sharp reactions amid the intensifying political climate in Tamil Nadu.

His remarks, widely seen as personal and acerbic, were aimed at Vijay and his fledgling party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), as the state gears up for a high-stakes Assembly election.

With the polls approaching, Tamil Nadu is witnessing a four-cornered contest. The ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) alliance is striving to retain power, while the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK)-BJP combine is seeking a comeback. Meanwhile, Seeman's Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) and Vijay's TVK have added new dimensions to the electoral battlefield.

Addressing reporters, Nagendran questioned Vijay's political credentials and experience. "Poor Vijay knows nothing; he has zero experience. First tell him to step out of his house. Only if he breaks free from his association with Trisha will he be able to see reality. He needs to fix his family relations before trying to lead a state.

He must maintain proper relationships within his family and learn how great leaders built movements," he said, blending criticism with sarcasm.

He went on to cite a proverb to underscore his point. "If a man cannot climb a roof to catch a chicken, how can he climb to the sky to reach heaven? Everything requires experience. You can only pour from a pot what is already inside it," he remarked, implying that Vijay lacks the depth needed for electoral politics.

Nagendran also dismissed claims about TVK's potential vote share. "How can we accept that he will secure 32% votes just because he is an actor? Didn't Vijayakanth once draw huge crowds? But crowds must convert into votes," he said, in a veiled reference to the late Vijayakanth, whose political journey saw fluctuating fortunes despite mass appeal.

Calling Vijay a "nobody" in political terms, Nagendran added that he could not keep responding to every statement from the TVK leader. He further mocked lofty electoral ambitions, saying, "I too can claim I will leap over a mountain like Hanuman. But is that possible? He won't win even a single seat."

Nagendran's use of the singular "avan" (a disrespectful way to refer to a leader) and the direct mention of a female actress marks a shift in the BJP's strategy.

For a year now, there have been speculations about Vijay and Trisha's alleged relationship. While the actors have refused to respond to the rumours, politicians across the party have targeted Vijay and Trisha over their bonding.

Earlier, DMK Minister MRK Panneerselvam drew attention by mocking Vijay's political party, Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK).

During a public address, Panneerselvam initiated a wordplay with the party's initials. When he asked the cadres what 'T' stood for, a party worker mockingly shouted, "Trisha." The minister feigned surprise and responded, "You can say that, but I don't know anything!" which drew loud laughter. When another cadre suggested "Keerthy Suresh" for the letter 'K,' Panneerselvam sarcastically praised his "genius", according to a report in The Commune.

However, Nainar's remarks is facing backlash on social media. One user wrote, "State party head should maintain decorum. @NainarBJP completely lost it! This will not go down well among women voters and general public."

Another netizen demanded Tamil Nadu BJP State Vice President should condemn the words made by the state party chief. "Feminists like Khushbu @khushsundar ma'am should teach BJP TN president Nainar Nagendran @NainarBJP how to speak in a public forum and how to respect women, especially women from the cinema industry.

I strongly condemn the filthy speech and disrespectful remarks he made about Trisha and Vijay in a press meet are absolutely condemnable. Such language from someone holding a responsible political position is unacceptable.

Politics should be about policies and people, not cheap comments about women. Leaders must maintain dignity and basic decency in public discourse," the user said.
