Directed by philosopher-turned-filmmaker Adam J. Graves, Anuja is a heartfelt tale about two sisters navigating life through hardships. It's a story of resilience, love, sisterhood, hope, and opportunities. The short film features Sajda Pathan as 9-year-old gifted girl 'Anuja' and Ananya Shanbhag as Anuja's 17-year-old sister 'Palak' who work in a garment factory.
The talented supporting cast also includes names like Nagesh Bhonsle, Gulshan Walia, Sushil Parwana, Sunita Bhadauria, Rudolfo Rajeev Hubert, Jugal Kishore and Pankaj Gupta.
The official logline of the film reads, "ANUJA tells the story of a gifted nine-year-old girl who, alongside her sister Palak, faces a life-changing opportunity that tests their bond and mirrors the struggles of girls worldwide (sic)."
The short film has been produced by Mindy Kaling, Guneet Monga Kapoor, Suchitra Mattai, Krushan Naik, Aaron Kopp, Ksheetij Saini, Alexandra Blaney, and Devananda Graves.
