Mufasa: The Lion King OTT Release Date, Platform Updates: Disney's highly-anticipated film 'Mufasa: The Lion King', chronicling the origin of Mufasa, finally made its way to big screens today (December 20). Directed by Oscar-winning Barry Jenkins and produced by Walt Disney Pictures, the film has opened to mixed reviews from the critics in India. While the expectations from The Lion Prequel is quite high, fans are quite curious about its online streaming.

Mufasa: The Lion King, which serves as both sequel and prequel to the 2019 blockbuster The Lion King, has sparked a boundless excitement among fans in India. Why wouldn't it be? In the Hindi version of Mufasa: The Lion King, Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan once again lent his voice to Mufasa while both of his sons, Aryan Khan and AbRam Khan features as the voices of Simba and young Mufasa respectively.

On the other hand, Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu came on board for the Telugu version of the Hollywood epic musical-adventure film as the voice of Mufasa, while Arjun Das dubbed for the Tamil Mufasa.

Being a Disney film, Mufasa: The Lion King is expected to have its OTT premiere on Disney Plus and Disney+ Hotstar. But when will the film arrive on OTT? According to India Times, Mufasa: The Lion King is likely to follow Disney's release pattern and might arrive on Disney+ in March 2025, following a 3 month gap roughly between its theatrical run and OTT premiere. However, an official announcement is still awaited.
