Why Satluj not available on ZEE5: While Aamir Khan-Gauri Spratt's wedding hogged all the limelight on the first Sunday of July, Diljit Dosanjh's film Satluj started trending on social media post 8pm. The reason is simple- The film is no longer available for streaming on the OTT platform.

Why Satluj Is Unavailable For Streaming On OTT platform?
Diljit Dosanjh's movie has been making waves ever since the trailer was unveiled. The film, which was earlier titled Punjab 95, is based on human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra.
On Sunday, the viewers were surprised for the movie became unavailable on ZEE5. In a major development, the streaming giant issued a statement stating that movie would remain unavailable in India. For the unversed, Satluj was released online just two days before on July 3.
The Honey Trehan directorial was released online for viewing for the audience after multiple delays and uncertainty around certification.
Why ZEE5 Pulled Off Satluj? What Is The Reason
On Sunday (July 5), ZEE5 posted a statement on its X and Instagram handles, stating that it remains committed to bringing back the film for the Indian audience. The OTT platform mentioned that it would use 'an appropriate avenue through due process' to ensure that the movie is brought back for streaming.
As Satluj trended on X following its digital premiere, the network also said that the response to the movie was 'truly overwhelming'. It expressed gratitude towards the audience for watching and supporting the film, but didn't give a clear reason for pulling off the movie.
"In light of the current developments, 'Satluj' will be unavailable in India until further notice. We remain committed to exploring every appropriate avenue through due process to bring the film back to our audiences at the earliest opportunity. We are deeply grateful to every viewer who chose to subscribe, watch and champion the film. Your love and support have meant a great deal to us and to everyone who brought this story to life. At ZEE5, we stand firmly by 'Satluj' and the creative vision behind it. We believe powerful storytelling has the ability to inspire, endure and leave a lasting impact," the full statement read.
For the unversed, Satluj was released on ZEE5 without any cuts. According to a report in PTI, the film is based of real-life incidents and earlier faced delays in release as the CBFC had sought 127 cuts from the makers. This delayed its theatrical release in India. Without any promotions, the movie was made available for streaming on ZEE5 last week.
Diljit, who played the role of Jaswant Singh Khalra, earned praise for his power-packed performance. Jaswant, a Sikh human rights activist, documented the cremation of thousands of unidentified bodies in Punjab between 1984 and 1994.
Khalra was last seen washing his car in 1995. His appearance made headlines. Six Punjab Police officers were convicted for his abduction and murder in 2005.
Satluj also starred Geetika Vidya Ohlyan, Suvinder Vicky, Arjun Rampal, Kanwaljit Singh, Saurabh Sachdeva and Varun Badola.
