The Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate of Samrala, Rajinder Singh, has summoned Guru Randhawa to appear on September 2, either in person or through legal counsel. The move comes after Rajdeep Singh Mann, a resident of Samrala, filed a complaint against the lyrics of Sirra.

The complaint highlights a particular line:
“We are the sons of Jatts. We got opium as our first food when we were born.”

According to the complainant, these lyrics promote drug culture and defame the Jatt community, while also insulting the sacred Sikh tradition of Gurti.

Streaming Giants Also Named in Complaint

Interestingly, the petition doesn’t just target Randhawa. Streaming platforms including Apple Music, YouTube, Amazon Music, Spotify India, Instagram, and Warner Music India have also been named for distributing and promoting the track. Despite the controversy, Sirra has already racked up over 60 million views on YouTube, indicating its popularity.
