August 16 1947 Story

August 16 1947 is a Tamil period thriller drama directed by N S Ponkumar. Gautham Karthik and Revathy Sharma starred in the lead roles, along with Pugazh, Richard Ashton, Junior MGR, TSR, Bose Venkat, and many others in supporting roles.

The cinematography was managed by Selvakumar SK, and Sudharsan edited the movie. The songs' lyrics were written by N S Ponkumar and Mohan Raja, and Sean Roldan composed the songs' soundtrack and background score. In this movie, several songs were sung by Sathya Prakash, Meenakshi Elayaraja, Ananthu, and two other people.

Plot

The picturization of our freedom is shown on August 16, 1947, much like in a historical thriller film. The biggest news in the nation's history—that "India won Independence" is kept secret from the villagers in a village by a local British officer.

Before that, how they treated us, how we pulled through, and in that one fictional character steps up to inspire society to build up the courage to oppose the British people, who put himself in one man's battle and bought India's independence from a small village.

Indians were treated horribly while India was governed by the British, but many people are unaware of what happened to the British officers and British citizens when every Indian's dream came true, which is the remaining tale of August 16, 1947.
