Dharma Dorai Story

Dharma Dorai is a family movie of the idiosyncratic characters of Rajnikanth’s brothers who exploit his innocence for their personal gain. Rajinikanth, Saranraj and Nizhalgal Ravi are three brothers. Of the three brothers Rajini is guileless. His brothers Saranraj and Nizhalgal Ravi who are groomed by Rajini trap him into misery.

The retribution comes in the form of Rajini becoming wild and courageous.[2] They become smugglers and also go to the extent of jailing Rajini for a life term. How the corrupt brothers reform is rest of the story.

We first see Dharmadorai (Rajinikanth) as a loner, rescuing a young couple Balu and Ishwarya from a fight. Ishwarya is the daughter of Rajadorai (Saranraj) and has eloped with the blessings of her mother (Vaishnavi). Her father and her uncle Ramadorai (Nizhalgal Ravi) show up, only to beat a hasty retreat when they realize who Ishwarya is with. Dharmadorai's wife (Gouthami) then tells the eloped couple their story that Dharmadorai had showered love and affection on his brothers and had given them money against the wishes of his father (Madhu). But they got involved in illegal activities and become rich by double-crossing their boss. Dharmadorai takes the blame when his brothers kill one of the villains. When he is in jail, his son dies in a road accident. Upon release from jail, Dharmadorai finds his father and son dead, and his wife working as a housemaid. In the present day, when the villains capture Rajadorai and Ramadorai, their wives request Dharmadorai to rescue them.
