Draupathi 2 is an Tamil historical action-drama directed by Mohan G, who also co-writes the story along with Padma Chandrasekhar. The film stars Richard and Rakshana Induchoodan in the lead roles. Music is composed by Ghibran, with cinematography by Philip Raj Sunder and editing by S. Devaraj. The project is produced by Sola Shakkaravarthi under the banner Netaji Productions.
Draupathi 2 Plot
Set in the 14th century, the plot begins with a brief segment in 2025 before diving into a grand historical conflict. Inspired by Annal Kandar's book Moondram Vallalla Maharaja, it depicts the heroic resistance of the Hoysala Empire and the Kadavarayas of Senthamangalam against the first Mughal invasion of South India. The narrative focuses on King Veera Simha Kadavarayan's (Richard Rishi) battle against the menacing Mohammad Bin Tughlaq (Chirag Jani), blending factual history with cinematic valor.
