Iraivi Story
Iraivi aka Iravi is a Tamil film directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced by Thirukumaran Entertainment. Vijay Sethupathi, S. J. Surya, Bobby Simha, Anjali and Karunakaran will play starring roles.
Iraivi Plot:
As the title suggests, Iraivi narrates the episodes that unfold in the lives of a few women. Interestingly, the story is told from the standpoint of men, associated with the women in the spotlight.
While SJ Surya plays a failed director, who finds solace in liquor, Bobby Simha tries hard to make a widow, played by Pooja, fall for him.
Vijay Sethupathi on the other hand, wanders in search of love, choosing to ignore the same when offered by his wife, played by Anjali.
Production
The title of the film was announced in September 2014 after the release of Karthik Subbaraj's Jigarthanda, with Kumar reveals that Bobby Simha and Karunakaran signed on for roles. Vijay Sethupathi and SJ Suryah were added to the film and it was reported to be a multi-starrer, as production developed.
On April 2015, the film held discussions with actresses in the lead roles with Pooja Kumar and Anjali considered, with the latter later signed on. In June 2015, Kamalinee Mukherjee informed that she was part of the project, although she did not divulge details about her role.
The film had an official launch in May 2015 and began filming, with Sivakumar Vijayan announced as the cinematographer replacing Gavemic Ury.
