Maamannan is a Tamil social action drama written and directed by Mari Selvaraj. Udhayanidhi Stalin, Keerthi Suresh, Vadivelu, and Fahadh Faasil starred in the lead roles, along with Geetha Kailasam and many others in supporting roles. In this flick, Vadivelu carried out the movie's most compelling character while fully breaking his humorous talents.
The film's soundtrack and background music were composed by A. R. Rahman. The cinematography was handled by Theni Eashwar, and Selva edited the movie. This movie was produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin through his own production company, Red Giant Movies, and he planned to distribute it throughout a lot of Tamil Nadu theatres.
Plot
Mari Selvaraj will continue on his social route in Maamannan as well; he relates the story of the community that was exploited by the town's influential man, who completely rules due to the powerful backing of the authorities. Udhayanidhi Stalin tried to collect evidence to flip him upside down when he was helpless to stop his endless torture, but the villian didn't consider seriously the emotions of the people. Udhaynidhi sees himself as the people's saviour and fights from the front.
The plot of this movie isn't about the hero saving the people and the villain getting caught; rather, it's about how the hero's rage led him to surrender the villain. As this was also Udhayanidhi Stalin's final film and Mari Selvaraj's previous blockbusters, Pariyerum Perumal and Karnan, were Kollywood signatures, there was definitely a lot of excitement for this film.
Release
The movie "Maamannan" was released in theatres on June 29, 2023. The film's streaming and broadcast rights have been acquired by Netflix and Kalaignar TV, respectively.
