Mercury Pookkal Story

Mercury Pookkal movie is all about Karthik (Srikanth) who is from a middle class family and is doing his MCA final year. He is an outstanding student with high ambitions. He works part time in a courier company and takes care of his expenses. Anbu Selvi (Meera Jasmine) who is from a rural landlord's family and is doing her B.Com in Trichy.

Her outgoing personality makes her father Mahadevan fear that she might bring disrepute to the family name and so he decides to give her in marriage to his friend's son Karthik. Both the youngsters try to resist marriage but are compelled to agree in the end. They decide to split after some time.

Slowly, they fall in love with each other. Meanwhile, Karthik passes out in flying colours. A turn of events and misunderstanding make Anbu Selvi leave her in-laws place to return to her native with her father. This results in a rift between the two families.

The rest is about how Karthik convinces both the families and finally begins to lead a fresh and new life with Anbu Selvi.
