Peranbu Story
Peranbu is a Tamil movie direction by 'Thanga Meengal' fame Ram. The movie has Malayalam mega star Mammooty, Anjali and Sadhana in the lead roles. The movie also introduced Anjali Ameer, a transsexual woman from Kerala. Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing music for this movie.
Story In Detail
Peranbu story revolves around a life a taxi driver (Mammotty), who stays out of city with his physically challenged daughter named Paapa (Sadhna), who gets into puberty. The family stays away from the city to avoid having a harmful effect from the city. But even there they felt that it is not safe. Amudhavan's wife Vijayalakshmi (Anjali) finds love in another person, leaving him with Paapa, who he avoided right from her birth.
Paapa misses her mother too much and cannot bond with her father. An unexpected turn of events happens in their life moves them to the city life. Survival becomes too tough as Paapa experiences nature's dictates. What happens next? Is rest of the story to be watched on big the screen.
Film Festivals
The movie Peranbu was premiered at the 47th International Film Festival Rotterdam, Netherlands on 27 January 2018, where in the Audience Award the film was voted to 20th out of 187 films competed.
The Asian premiere of the movie was at the 21st Shanghai International Film Festival, China on 17 June 2018. The movie Peranbu was also selected to be screened under the Indian Panorama category of 49th International Film Festival of India.
The trailer and poster for world wide release launched on 5 January 2019. The movie released on February 1, 2019, in theatres worldwide.
