The movie is based on the novel, The Prostitute and the Postman by Bhupen Hazarika. It is all about a sex worker and a love triangle between a sex worker, a postman and a priest in a village. Director Kalpana Lajmi looks deep into the devadasi system and the exploitation of a sex worker by an 'Aghori' priest played by Mithun Chakravarthy, a sadist who brutally rapes girls.
