Puranaanooru Story
Purananooru is an upcoming Tamil period gangster drama film written and directed by Sudha Kongara and produced by Suriya and Jyothika under the banner of 2D Entertainment and Meenakshi Cinemas. The film stars Suriya, Dulquer Salmaan, Nazriya Nazim, Madhavan, and Vijay Varma in pivotal roles. The film's music will be composed by GV Prakash Kumar. In the announcement video, the title of the film was not fully revealed. Instead, the filmmakers only disclosed one part of the three-word title: Purananooru.
The National Award-winning duo, once again, takes the stage to deliver another blockbuster after Soorarai Potru. G.V. Prakash's 100th film promises to be even more spectacular than his previous work. A gritty and realistic gangster epic exploring the depths of ambition, betrayal, and redemption
The film is inspired by true events and tells the story of a gangster from Madurai who seeks revenge against his close circles for their betrayal. Suriya is said to be playing a dual role in the film, one of which is that of a young man who is drawn into the world of crime. Dulquer Salmaan is reportedly playing the role of Suriya's close friend and confidant.
Release Date
Purananooru is currently in pre-production and is expected to go on floors in early 2024. The film is scheduled for release in late 2024.
