Sandakkari is an upcoming Tamil romantic comedy directed by R. Madhesh. The film features Vimal and Shriya Saran in the lead roles, with well-known actors Prabhu and Sathyan appearing in important supporting parts. It is produced by Sharmila Mandre and Jeyabalan Jeyakumar under the banner Boss Production Corporation.

Plot

Sandakkari is the official Tamil remake of the 2012 Malayalam superhit My Boss, which was inspired by the Hollywood romantic comedy The Proposal (2009).

The story revolves around a strict and influential female boss who faces visa complications that could force her to leave India. To overcome this, she convinces and pressures her carefree male assistant to enter into a fake marriage. What begins as a practical arrangement soon turns into a series of humorous situations, emotional moments, and a blossoming romance between the two.

Even before its theatrical release, Sandakkari grabbed attention by winning three honours at the Tamil Nadu State Film Awards (2020 cycle). The film received Best Film Third Prize, while Amrish won Best Male Playback Singer and Iyyappan was awarded Best Art Director.
