To Let Story

To Let is an Tamil drama movie written and directed by Chezhiyan. The movie star cast includes Santhosh Sreeram, Suseela and Dharun in the lead roles. The movie is produced by director Chezhiyan's wife Prema. Chezhiyan also handled the cinematography, and wrote the script, while Sreekar Prasad does the movie editing. The movie director Chezhiyan earlier worked as a cinematographer for the movies Paradesi and Joker.

Story

Ilango (Santhosh Sreeram) is an assistant director who faces difficulties and typical struggles in his life. He has the responsibility of his wife, Amudha (Sheela Rajkumar) and son, Siddharth (Dharun). On a certain day, Illango is asked to vacate the house by his landlord in a span of 30 days as the latter wants to rent out the house to IT professionals for better income.

Ilango and Amudha are now left with the option of searching for a decent home in a short span of time and as well, ensure quality life and living for their only son, Siddharth. What transpires next, forms the rest of the plot.

Music

The movie does not have songs claiming as realistic cinema. The sound of radio and television, the conversation of people and an auto on the road compensate for the music.

The movie won 32 awards and 84 nominations/Official selections at film festivals. Initially the movie To Let was screened at many film festivals in 2017 and 2018 around the world. The movie won in the category of Best Feature Film in Tamil at 65th National Film Awards and won Special jury mention award at the 49th International film festival of India.

The movie To Let will have theatrical release on 21 February 2019.
