Vadakkupatti Ramasamy Story

Vadakkupatti Ramasamy is a 2024 Tamil action comedy movie written and directed by Karthik Yogi of Dikkiloona fame and starring Santhanam, Megha Akash, and Yogi Babu. The film was produced by TG Vishwa Prasad under the banner People Media Factory. The film's music is composed by Sean Roldan.

Plot

The film is set in the 1980s and tells the story of Ramasamy (Santhanam), a young man from a small village in Tamil Nadu. Ramasamy is an atheist who does not believe in God or religion. However, his life takes a turn when he meets a young woman named Radha (Megha Akash), who is a devout Hindu. Ramasamy falls in love with Radha, but she is initially hesitant to reciprocate his feelings due to his lack of faith.

In order to win Radha's heart, Ramasamy sets out to prove that God does not exist. He embarks on a journey across India, meeting with various religious leaders and challenging their beliefs. Along the way, he learns a lot about himself and about the world around him.

Production

The film was announced in 2022 and principal photography began in November 2022. The film was shot in various locations across Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, Madurai, and Trichy.

Vadakkupatti Ramasamy Theatrical and Ott Release

The film was released in theaters on February 2, 2024.  Vadakkupatti Ramasamy" is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video as of Tuesday, March 12th, 2024.

Reception

The film received good reviews from critics. Some critics praised Santhanam's performance and the film's humor, while others criticized the film's predictable storyline and lack of originality.
