Arrambam has become the biggest hit of 2013. The movie, which was released on October 31, has done brilliant business at Tamil Nadu Box Office as well as worldwide. This again shows that Ajith Kumar's star power works big time at the Box Office and if his movie gets positive response, then it will surely set the collection centres on fire.
The Tamil movie opened up to positive reviews from critics and audience. The major credit for the success of Arrambam will also be shared with Ajith Kumar's fans as they spent overtime spreading good words about the movie on the release day and the day after. Arrambam was released in good number of screens. Multiplexes dedicated major number of screens for the Tamil movie in first two days to cash in on the occasion. In Chennai, Arrambam registered cent percent occupancy on the release day. As a result, the Tamil movie collected Rs 8.5 crores at the Box Office.
Arrambam Less Than Billa 2
But Arrambam collections were comparatively less to Billa 2. The dip was expected as there were no big releases during the release of Billa 2.
Collections Marginally Came Down
The collections marginally came down on the following day for Arrambam. But the industry saw a record turn out for the Tamil movie in the weekend.
20+ Crores Collection
Arrambam reportedly ended the movie by collecting 20+ crores in the first weekend. Well, the response was something similar in Karnataka and Kerala.
In Karnataka, Arrambam made Rs 2 crore in the first weekend and so far, it has made above Rs 3.7 crores. In Kerala, though figures are not available, traders say that it has made wonderful business.
In the international circuit, Arrambam had earned more than Rs 15 crores from the UK, Australia, US and other places.
Will Arrambam Reach The Rare Feat?
So far, Arrambam has crossed Rs 70+ crores worldwide and it is racing towards reaching the Rs 100 crore mark. Remember, only two movies have reached the feat in Tamil film industry till date.
