Ajith Kumar's star power is working big time again. Thala's latest movie Veeram, which was released last Friday (Jan 10), has got stunning opening at the Box Office. The first weekend for the film has turned out to be money-filled weekend as the film has earned good revenue from every nook and corner of the state.

On the release day, Veeram witnessed above 90% occupancy in theatres in Chennai and its suburbs. From different age group, people saw the Ajith Kumar's latest movie and enjoyed the content. But for fans, it was a festive time, as their favourite hero thrilled them this time with a family-based content with all mass elements.

It was opened up to positive reviews in large numbers. The film saw 350+ screens in Tamil Nadu and 35+ screens in Chennai. On the first day, the film made close to Rs 8 crores in the state and the biggest share of Rs 1.20 crores arrived from Chennai. The positive reviews from critics and good word-of-mouth played major role in the success of the film at the Box Office.

A trader says, "The collection of Veeram in the first weekend was expected mainly because of the response for the advance booking of the film. The success of the movie at the Box Office will also go to the state government's decision to permit theatres to have five shows in a day. As a result, they decided to meet the demand by having early-dawn shows.

The response was same from various centres including Karnataka. On the second day, the response in Tamil Nadu was brilliant. The occupancy on an average saw an expected dip. It is said that the film had 92% occupancy.

However, on the third day, the occupancy saw a rise not only in Tamil Nadu, but at international circuits too. The film had 96% occupancy in the state on Sunday.

Veeram, which had reportedly earned close to eight crores on the first day, made Rs 7.2+ crores on the second day. But on the third day, the Tamil film made Rs 8.5 crores. Please note that these figures could change as it is a predicted figure and the official news is yet to arrive.
