Rajinikanth's previous film Kochadaiiyaan not only failed to behave like a Rajinikanth flick at the box office but is also giving sleepless nights to many who were associated with the movie. After attracting entertainment tax fraud case to its production company and landing Latha Rajinikanth in trouble over an alleged cheating case, India's first motion capture movie might now cause problems to the most awaited movie of the year, Lingaa.
According to trade sources, Lingaa's distribution rights is yet to be sold in Kerala. The news has created tension among Superstar fans in Kerala and everybody are staggered to say the least on hearing the news as Lingaa has created hype like never before and would be the first movie any distributor would vie for.
Getting to the root cause of the problem, we have found from the distributors association, that there are old Kochadaiiyaan dues that has to be settled by the production company to major distributors across Kerala. They have said that the distributors association have unanimously agreed that no one would step forward to buy Lingaa's distribution rights to release the film in the state unless the old dues are taken care off which have already put them in a spot of bother.
Will Rajinikanth step up to solve the issue amicably so that it opens up the gate to release his upcoming film in God's own country? Well that remains to be seen. It will also be interesting to see for how long can the distributors in Kerala hold on to their horses as Lingaa will be too tempting for them to ignore.
