Actor Ajith Kumar's next Tamil outing, which is tentatively titled as 'Thala 57', was officially launched here in Chennai.
Tipped to be a spy thriller, the project will mark the third time collaboration of Ajith and director Siva. The duo had previously worked together in Veeram and Vedalam.
"The shooting will start from later this month. The makers are planning to shoot the first schedule in Bulgaria," a source from the film's unit told IANS.
While the rest of the cast is yet to be finalised, rumours indicate that Anushka Shetty might most likely team up with Ajith. The Yennai Arindhaal star is said to be playing an international investigative officer in the film.
Since both Veeram and Vedalam found their ways into box office successes, this upcoming film has stirred up excitement among fans and movie goers.
Young music sensation Anirudh Ravichander, who had composed tunes for Vedalam, has been brought on board for this film as well.
In a press release, TG Thyagarajan of Sathya Jyothi Films, who will be bankrolling this flick, has said:
"It is our immense pride to be associated with Mr Ajith Kumar. We as a company have a tradition to produce films that ensure commercial value as well as content value. We were always updated in terms of production values.
'AK 57' (Thala 57) as it is called as of now will be our biggest by all means. The script director Siva had narrated to us and the perfect planning he puts into practice in every move assure a great success. This film will be shot extensively abroad and the title and details will be announced in time to time."
Stay tuned for further updates on this project and much more from the world of Tamil cinema.
