launched
here
in
Chennai
on
Monday
(April
4th).
Director
Venkat
Prabhu,
who
has
reunited
with
the
cast
of
the
film's
first
part,
shared
the
news
on
his
Twitter
page.
"#reunion

love
and
support
(sic)," Prabhu
tweeted
along
with
an
image
from
the
launch.
Released
in
2007,
the
film
explored
themes
such
as
love,
friendship
and
rivalry
against
the
backdrop
of
street
cricket.
The
sequel
will
be
produced
by
Prabhu's
Black
Ticket
Company,
and
will
feature
an
ensemble
cast
of
Jai,
Shiva,
Premgi
Amaren,

THERIKAVIDROM."
Chennai
600028
was
Venkat
Prabhu's
directorial
debut.
The
movie
went
on
to
become
a
commercial
success,
paving
the
way
for
flicks
like
Saroja,
Goa,
Mankatha,
Biriyani
and
Massu
Engira
Masilamani.
This
is
the
first
time
Venkat
will
be
trying
his
hand
at
a
sequel.
Also,
he
had
earlier
mentioned
that
even
Thala
Ajith's
Mankatha
could
have
a
sequel
as
the
movie
had
an
open
ending.
So
will
it
be
Mankatha
2
after
completing
the
sequel
of
his
first
film?
Well,
the
possibility
is
high
as
Mankatha
is
the
highest
grossing
movie
in
the
film-maker's
career
and
a
sequel
will
be
much
appreciated
and
supported
by
fans
and
movie
buffs.
