Kaithi 2 Delayed Again; Lokesh Kanagaraj Gearing Up To Make His Telugu Cinema Debut?

Lokesh Kanagaraj started off in the Tamil film industry on a high note with Maanagaram. He soon emerged as one of the most promising talents with the success of the Karthi starrer, Kaithi. Later, Lokesh positioned himself as one of the 'star' filmmakers in the industry with the back-to-back successes of Master and Vikram. Even though his next outings, Leo and Coolie were criticised by the audience, the filmmaker was expected to bounce back with Kaithi 2.

As reported earlier, the blockbuster Karthi starrer was expected to get a sequel long back. Even though the project was originally expected to start rolling in 2022 and later in 2023, it was delayed multiple times due to the filmmaker's packed schedule. Even though Lokesh Kanagaraj had confirmed that Kaithi 2 will start rolling soon after Coolie's release, it seems like the project is not happening anytime soon.

Kaithi 2 Delayed Again?

Recently, it was confirmed that Lokesh Kanagaraj and his direction team have already kickstarted the pre-production of the filmmaker's next outing. However, the grapevine suggests that the Kaithi director is not working on the long-delayed sequel to the film. If the reports are to be believed, Lokesh and his team are currently working another standalone film, which is not a part of his celebrated cinematic universe, titled LCU.

Some unconfirmed reports suggest that Lokesh Kanagaraj is indeed planning to make his highly anticipated Telugu cinema debut, very soon. Even though the filmmaker previously revealed that he intends to work in Tollywood soon, he had stated it will happen only after he completes his committed films. However, there has not been any update on Kaithi 2 from a long time. Karthi, the leading man of the project, has been announcing his upcoming films, with other directors. So, it is safe to assume that the sequel to the blockbuster film is delayed again.
