Karuppu OTT Release: Suriya, the popular star of Tamil cinema is teaming with multi-faceted talent RJ Balaji, for his next outing in films. The movie, touted to be an action-packed entertainer, has been titled Karuppu. The National Award-winning actor is teaming up with popular actress Trisha Krishnan after a very gap for the highly anticipated film, which is gearing up for an early 2026 release. Reportedly, the OTT streaming rights of Karuppu have been sold.

Karuppu OTT Release: THIS Platform Bags The Rights

According to the sources close to the Suriya starrer, the post-theatrical OTT streaming rights of the highly anticipated film are already sold. Netflix, the streaming giant which is planning to elaborate its footing in the South film industry, has reportedly purchased the Karuppu OTT rights for all language versions, for a whopping price. An official announcement on the same, is expected to be out in a few days.

As per the recent updates, Karuppu is gearing up to hit the big screens across the globe on January 23, 2026, as a Republic Day weekend release. If the project performs exceedingly well at the theatres, it might have a major gap between the big screen and OTT releases. Otherwise, the Suriya starrer might get its streaming debut on Netflix, by the last week of February, or the first week of March, 2026.

Karuppu: Cast And Crew

Suriya is set to play the central character Saravanan aka Karuppu in the upcoming RJ Balaji directorial, which is touted to be an action drama with fantasy elements. Along with the actor and leading lady Trisha Krishnan, Karuppu features a large star cast including senior Malayalam actor Indrans, Yogi Babu, Swasika, Natty Subramaniam, Sshivada, Anagha Maaya Ravi, Supreeth Reddy, and others in the supporting roles. Sai Abhyankkar composes the songs and original score. GK Vishnu and Kiran Kaushik are the directors of photography. R Kalaivanan handles the editing.
