The movie, touted to be a heist thriller, is helmed by newcomer Vikarnan Ashok. The project revolves around the clash between a middle-class man and a powerful woman, who are both after a whopping amount of ₹440 crore, which an influential politician was intending to distribute among his voters.

The project, which is mentored by the celebrated Tamil filmmaker Vetrimaaran, has been creating quite a stir on social media with its promising trailer and intriguing casting. However, when it comes to the early box office reports, things are not as expected. As per the latest updates, Mask is off to an underwhelming start at the box office, despite the film receiving decent reviews.

Mask Box Office Collection Day 1: Kavin's Film Off To A Slow Start

According to the recent updates published by the box office trackers Sacknilk, Mask has made an all-India net collection of around ₹0.43 crore so far on its Day 1 at theatres. While considering the current trends, it seems impossible for the Kavin starrer to cross the ₹1 crore mark at the domestic (all-India) box office on its release day. As per the reports, Mask had an overall 17.53% Tamil occupancy on Friday, November 21, 2025.

The Morning Shows had 11.49% occupancy, while Afternoon Shows were increased to 21.06% and the Evening Shows to 20.04%. The Chennai city shows started with 14% occupancy, but it had increased to 26.33% by the evening. The reports suggest that Mask has been performing poorly at the other major South Indian cities, including Bengaluru, Kochi, and Mumbai. However, things are expected to change for the film from its Day 2 at the box office, owing to positive reviews.
