Padayappa Re-release Box Office Collection Day 1: Rajinikanth, legendary superstar of Tamil cinema celebrated his 75th birthday on December 12, 2025. Along with the same, the veteran actor also celebrated the 50th year of his career, by re-releasing Padayappa, one of his most iconic mass entertainers on theatres, on the occasion. As per the latest updates, the KS Ravikumar directorial has stricken gold at the box office, yet again.

According to the recent updates from the trade experts, Padayappa 4K version has made a fantastic opening at the worldwide box office. The Rajinikanth starrer made an opening worldwide collection of ₹4.10 crore from its global collections, on its release day. It is indeed a remarkable achievement for the mass action entertainer, which originally hit the theatres on April 10, 1998.

The recent updates by BFIlmy Official X (formerly Twitter) handle suggest that Padayappa collected ₹3.15 crore from Tamil Nadu alone, on its Day 1. The Rajinikanth starrer collected around ₹32.7 lakh from Karnataka, ₹3.11 lakh from Telangana, ₹2.95 lakh from Puducherry, ₹2.80 lakh from Kerala, and ₹2.50L from the Rest Of India centers on its release day. The total all-India gross collection now stands at ₹3.59 crore.

Padayappa Plot, Cast And Crew

Rajinikanth appeared as the central character Aaru Padaiyappan, who is fondly called 'Padayappa', in the KS Ravikumar directorial. The movie revolves around rise, fall, and the grand comeback of the protagonist and his family, against how tackles the evil schemes of the iconic antagonist Neelambari, played by Ramya Krishnan.

Shivaji Ganesan and Lakshmi, the legendary actors played Padayappa's parents in the film, while Soundarya appeared as Vasundhara, the protagonist's love interest-turned-wife. The blockbuster film featured a massive star cast including Nassar, Manivannan, Sithara, Radha Ravi, Vadivukarasi, Prakash Raj, Sathyapriya, Senthil, Abbas, Mansoor Ali Khan, Abbas, Preetha Vijayakumar, and others.

AR Rahman composed the iconic sound track and original score of the Rajinikanth film. S Murthi Prasad is the director of photography. K Thanigachalam handled the editing. Padayappa is produced by the prestigious yesteryear banner Arunachala Cine Creations.
